The Full English Breakfast
For breakfast lovers, Marmaris and Icmeler offer some
fantastic spots to grab a proper full English. Last year, I found
plenty of budget-friendly gems like Speedy’s, Diana Sisters,
Rush Bar, and Majestic. For something more substantial,
Piccadilly serves up a massive breakfast, and Sweet Corner
just a few doors down is another great pick. Majestic Restaurant, Icmeler
What’s even better? Despite Turkey being a Muslim country, you can still find proper pork sausages with
your brekkys—something that’s not always easy to find abroad. Many places also offer a Scottish breakfast,
complete with black pudding and a square Lorne sausage. Pair it all with a pint, and you’re in for a proper
start to the day!
The Sunday Roast
When it comes to Sunday dinners, Marmaris and Icmeler have some real stars. The White Lion in Marmaris is
a standout, with Haci, the chef, serving up incredible roasts that include roasties, veg, creamy mash, and
thick Bisto gravy. It’s the kind of meal that feels like a warm hug from home.
Another highlight for me was Piccadilly, where I enjoyed a beautiful lamb dinner topped with a dollop of
mint sauce. The quality of the meat and the generous portions made it a meal to remember.
Rush Bar is another all-rounder that deserves a mention. Whether it’s breakfast or Sunday dinner, Rashid and
his team have you covered. The food is consistently fab, and the atmosphere is always welcoming.
Over in Icmeler, The View Bar is an absolute must-visit. Just off the
PERFUMES, SUNGLASSES & JEWELLERY beach, this venue offers not only a proper British roast but also
fantastic live music to keep you entertained. Jan’s Sunday dinners are
a true highlight, with homemade Yorkshire puddings, rich gravy, and
all the trimmings—including mint sauce, Colman’s mustard, and
stuffing. Paul and Jan are excellent hosts who make you feel right
at home, and the hospitality here is second to none.
Of course, while you’re here, don’t miss out on a traditional Turkish
breakfast. Many beachfront restaurants serve up a stunning spread
of fresh bread, cheeses, olives, and honey—a real treat for the senses.
